In Australia, Carlos received numerous awards including as a finalist in the prestigious Australian ARIA Music Awards. He has been a cultural ambassador for the Australian government, performing his music in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei & Thailand. Carlos has performed at the main concert halls and festivals around Australia such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Angel Place Concert Hall and at the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth Festivals among others.

Carlos' music has featured in film, documentaries and TV series soundtracks. He is regularly commissioned to create new works for public & private institutions such as the Australian Government, Australian Embassy in Nepal, MLC College Wind Ensemble & Symphony Orchestra, The Dominican Religious Order (Australia), film and TV industry.

MUSIC SCHOOL FOUNDER, PRINCIPAL & HEAD TEACHER
Carlos is the founder and principal of the GEKO MUSIC ONLINE SCHOOL where he also teaches guitar. He leads a team of 15 teachers and more than 100 students from around the world who come together weekly for online music lessons learning all instruments. Carlos has written learning programs and methods for guitar, ukulele, ensembles and orchestras for children. He also designed, directed and implemented musical programs in Australian schools integrating classroom lessons with the repertoire being explored by each school's musical ensembles (SEE VIDEO BELOW).
PRESENTER OF MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Carlos has presented lectures in universities around Australia and Asia in the subject of "Musical Pedagogy for Children through Latin American music". Between 1989- 2018, he presented thousands of educational concerts in Australian and Asian schools. In 2001, the Australian SBS TV Network made a 4-part documentary series of his life entitled "Viva". He has also been a TV presenter for the Australian TV network ABC for Kids in their children's music education program "Lah Lah's Adventures" (SEE VIDEO BELOW).
BAND & ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR
Carlos also took studies in orchestral and choral conducting and has conducted numerous symphonic ensembles in primary and secondary schools (SEE VIDEO BELOW). He has also led several contemporary Latin American ensembles.
